Over the past five or six weeks, the US Naval Station at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (GTMO) has begun to, rather quietly, take center stage on U.S. immigration and national security matters. We are witnessing unprecedented transparency and public access to this US military prison, which has traditionally detained terrorism suspects and illegal enemy combatants. One might say that GTMO appears to be preparing to go mainstream.
Did you know that GTMO covers 45 square miles? More plainly stated, it is YUGE!
The Guantanamo Bay detention camp, also known as GTMO (/ˈɡɪtmoʊ/ GIT-moh), GITMO (/ˈɡɪtmoʊ/ GIT-moh), or simply Guantanamo Bay, is a United States military prison within Naval Station Guantanamo Bay (NSGB), on the coast of Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.
On 1/29/25, President Donald J. Trump put everyone on notice when he issued a rather scintillating executive order, expanding the migrant operations center at GTMO. This memo was directed at two people - the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Homeland Security. Pete Hegseth and Kristi Noem are currently holding these two positions.
I hereby direct the Secretary of Defense (Pete Hegseth) and the Secretary of Homeland Security (Kristi Noem) to take all appropriate actions to expand the Migrant Operations Center at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay to full capacity to provide additional detention space for high-priority criminal aliens unlawfully present in the United States, and to address attendant immigration enforcement needs identified by the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security.
This memorandum is issued in order to halt the border invasion, dismantle criminal cartels, and restore national sovereignty.
It has been reported by several sources that a massive illegal immigrant deportation mission is now underway. This mission is often described as being unlike anything ever conducted before in our nation’s history, and the Migrant Operations Center at Guantanamo Bay will apparently play an integral role in this mission.
First Flights Of Illegal Immigrants To Guantanamo Bay Are Underway (2/4/25)
With all that our team has shared thus far on GTMO, we thought timing would be good share some information that will allow each of our subscribers to secure a front row seat to all things GTMO 2025.
One way to do this is to closely follow the pen of independent journalist, and former CBS news correspondent, Catherine Herridge. Yes, this is the same Catherine Herridge that our team reported on back in March of 2024.
For those on Twitter/X, check out @C__Herridge for Catherine’s “Camp Justice” updates now coming to you straight from GTMO. “Camp Justice: Day 8” occurred on 1/27/25 so she has had access to GTMO for over 60 days.
Kristi Noem, Secretary of Homeland Security, is another person that you might consider following closely. She was reporting live from GTMO on 2/7/25.
And of course, Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth would also be a good follow on X. Laura Ingraham, from Fox News, accompanied Hegseth to GTMO in late February.
Kingsley Wilson, Deputy Press Secretary for the DOD, was another person accompanying Hegseth on his trip to GTMO in February. She represents yet another person you can follow on Twitter/X as GTMO quietly takes center stage.
So is all that special attention that was given to the military personnel at GTMO during the Army/Navy football game back in mid-December 2024 starting to make more sense now? Do you remember the Army uniforms sporting the word “ARMY!” with dashes underneath each letter, like the game Hangman?
Our “Maha Collective” team of citizen journalists decided to close our 3-part series on GTMO with a quick mathematical exercise. It is being reported that GTMO is being prepped to handle up to 30,000 criminal aliens. Per our team’s calculations, 30,000 high priority criminal aliens are just a meager .25% of the estimated 12,000,000 illegal immigrants that are allegedly facing deportation. Based on simple mathematics, we surmised that those earning a one-way ticket to GTMO must be part of an “elite” group.
The question remains - who exactly are these “high priority criminal aliens” who are getting ready to face justice or be deported at GTMO? Lest we forget, enemy combatants of these United States of America relinquish their rights as US citizens and become hostages, of sorts, ultimately requiring deportation.
At the end of the day, GTMO is a military prison that has been traditionally used to detain terrorism suspects and "illegal enemy combatants."
The “spa” is just starting to heat up. Relax, sit back, and enjoy the rest of the show.
This concludes The Fruited Plain’s 3-part introductory series on GTMO.
